CRAFT Maquette Scuttlebutt
RoMa Craft Tobac has begun shipping its latest limited release, the CRAFT Maquette Scuttlebutt, to retailers.
Scuttlebutt is the newest addition to RoMa Craft’s CRAFT Maquette Series, a collection designed to give cigar enthusiasts a glimpse into the company’s blending and development process before a blend potentially reaches its final form.
The new cigar measures 4 5/8 x 48 and carries an MSRP of $10 per cigar, or $100 per 10-count bundle.
Production is limited to 1,800 bundles of 10 cigars, resulting in a total release of just 18,000 cigars.
A Different Take on Whiskey Rebellion
While RoMa Craft has not disclosed the individual wrapper, binder or filler tobaccos used for Scuttlebutt, the company has revealed that the blend is based on a milder interpretation of its Whiskey Rebellion blend.
RoMa Craft co-founder Skip Martin previously described Scuttlebutt as one of his favorite CRAFT Maquette projects to date. The response to the blend during development was strong enough that RoMa Craft increased the planned production from 1,000 bundles to 1,800 bundles.

The CRAFT Maquette concept differs from a traditional cigar line in that the releases provide smokers with a look at the experimentation that goes into RoMa Craft’s blending process. Different blends, sizes and tobacco combinations can serve as snapshots of a cigar’s development rather than simply being another regular-production release.
With Scuttlebutt now making its way to retailers, RoMa Craft fans will have a limited opportunity to experience one of the company’s more experimental releases and a decidedly different interpretation of Whiskey Rebellion.
