Patina y Viso has announced that Leprechaun Dust, its limited-edition candela release, is now shipping to retailers across the United States. The project, which sold out at the manufacturer level prior to release, will begin arriving at select shops this month. Patina y Viso is the collaboration between Mo Maali of Patina Cigars and Tyler Jeffery of Viso Horny Cigars.

Leprechaun Dust is a 5 x 52 Robusto featuring a candela wrapper and is produced at N.A.C.S.A. in Estelí, Nicaragua, with distribution handled by City of Palms Cigars. Production is limited to 200 bundles of 10 cigars, with an MSRP of $12.50 per cigar.

The concept for Leprechaun Dust developed during multiple trips to Nicaragua following discussions with Gustavo Cura of Oliva Tobacco about the complexities of the candela fermentation process. Those conversations helped shape the direction of the blend and its intended profile.

Rather than creating a traditional candela experience, the goal was to produce a cigar that would not immediately reveal itself as candela in a blind tasting. The resulting blend aims to avoid the sharper or grassy characteristics sometimes associated with the wrapper, favoring a more balanced and approachable smoking experience.

The name Leprechaun Dust draws inspiration from Chicago’s long-standing St. Patrick’s Day tradition of dyeing the Chicago River green, a nod to the brand’s Midwest roots and the cultural moment that inspired the release.

Although the production run sold out at the manufacturer level, Leprechaun Dust is now shipping to select retailers nationwide and will be available while supplies last.
