Bandolero Firecracker
United Cigars has begun shipping the 2026 Bandolero Firecracker, marking the return of one of the most recognizable releases in the company’s Firecracker series.
Produced in partnership with Selected Tobacco, the limited-edition Bandolero Firecracker combines the distinctive short Firecracker format with a blend built around aged tobaccos and a dark Ecuadorian Habano Maduro wrapper.
The cigar measures 3 1/2 x 50 and features the signature extended pigtail cap designed to resemble the fuse of a firecracker.
At the center of the blend is a fifth-priming Ecuadorian Habano Maduro wrapper, a tobacco traditionally used for the Bandolero Aventureros line. Underneath is an Ecuadorian binder surrounding fillers from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Peru.
Two Years of Post-Roll Aging
One of the defining characteristics of the 2026 release is what happened after the cigars were rolled.
The Bandolero Firecracker underwent approximately two years of post-roll aging in multi-cedar-lined aging rooms before being released. The extended aging period is part of the production philosophy associated with Nelson Alfonso and Selected Tobacco.
“United Firecrackers are about our nation’s tradition reimagined in tobacco,” said Oliver Nivaud, Director of Operations for United Cigars. “The Bandolero Firecracker 2026 is the culmination of two years of patient post-roll aging, and it delivers everything you could expect from a legend like Nelson Alfonso.”

The Return of a Familiar Firecracker
The Bandolero version of the Firecracker first appeared in 2022, followed by another limited release in 2023. The cigar combines Selected Tobacco’s Bandolero blending style with the compact Firecracker format that has become a recurring part of United Cigars’ portfolio.
The Firecracker concept itself was developed by David Garofalo of Two Guys Smoke Shop and United Cigars, eventually growing into a series that has featured collaborations with numerous cigar manufacturers and brands. The defining feature remains the short, stout vitola topped by its unmistakable tobacco “fuse.”
With the required aging period now complete, the Bandolero Firecracker 2026 is beginning to make its way to retailers, giving Firecracker fans another opportunity to experience one of the more distinctive collaborations between United Cigars and Selected Tobacco.
